Happy New Year

A message from Audra Handal, PAVE Centre's Executive Director:

unnamed
As the year 2020 comes to an end, let’s take a moment to reflect on this year. No one could have ever imagined a year like this one. Therefore, I encourage each and every one of us to take a look at how we can play our part in making this world a better place for our future and the future of the next generation.
In the midst of the raging COVID-19 pandemic, we at PAVE Centre have been able to overcome the odds by graduating 26 students from a hospitality and construction class, orchestrate an eight mile clean up project, host a symposium for our graduates and teach a computer workshop.
Clearly the pandemic has caused much havoc in the job market. More than 60% of our employed graduates loss their jobs as a direct result of the hardship on the employment sector. We at PAVE took this into consideration and provided these individuals with care packages (cleaning supplies, rice, meat, corn meal, sugar, etc.) to help while they were seeking other employment.
Thanks to our very involved and active Board of Directors, PAVE is looking forward to a bright future. In the coming year we will continue to host our skilled training classes, taking into consideration the recommendation from the Ministry of Health in Jamaica. We hope to have our own facility where we can offer our skilled training classes and host many events that will
help empower the youths living in Portland.
We would like to thank our supports who have been with us from the start and those who have come onboard recently. It is with your continued support that we are able to transform at-risk youth living in Jamaica. We take pride in the classes we have designed that all include self-worth and life skills. Theses are basic principals in everyday living that will have a tremendous impact in the future growth of Jamaica.
With Hope and Gratitude,
Audra Handal
